NH Wedding Photography | Seacoast Science Center | Ordiorne State Park | Rye, NH

Erica and Chris were married at the Seacoast Science Center located at Odiorne Point State Park in Rye, NH. It was a warm summer day with sweeping views of the ocean as their backdrop. The sky and distant thunder added just the right amount of extra anticipation to their outdoor ceremony. We squeezed in the portraits right before a brief shower post ceremony. The maid of honor, Erica’s sister learned to play the ukulele and gave her toast to the couple as a sentimental serenade to the tune of ‘Brown Eyed Girl’. It was a really beautiful day to be part of as photographers.

Erica and Chris’s wedding and our photography is featured in New Hampshire Magazine Spring/Summer 2016 Bride print edition.

Family Documentary Photography 2017 Review | Family Photographer | NH

I want to sent out a big THANK YOU to all the families that had me in for a Family Documentary Session last year. I became inspired to begin offering these sessions and had a blast meeting, visiting, and photographing these families.

With 26 years as a career photojournalist, some street photography, and my ongoing documentary photography of my son, I ventured out to offer this wonderful, and for me, a natural and honest form of family photography. This work has opened my vision up to see and feel something new, which is part of the joy of photography. I love the everyday moments in life; those should not be overlooked. They are valuable.

What is a Family Documentary Session? It is a approach and philosophy of photographing a subject(s) much like like I have done in my career: looking for real, honest, spontaneous and surprising moments in life that ultimately tell a story about your family.

I do not pose you, or move you into a “better spot” while at these sessions. I won’t ask your family to all dress up in the same outfits and arrange everyone in a sand dune. That’s not me.

This is what I’m interested in: dropping in for a session whether your family is simply playing at home, or involved in your daily routines. You will be surprised at seeing these moments that will make you smile from your everyday lives. Or I can tag along on an outing to the local park, go along while shopping with the kids (now that is fun!), documenting the birth of your child, family events, or even drop in on your vacation.

In the end, I want you to look at the photos now, and in 20 years, and say, “That’s Us; that’s the stuff we did together as a family.”

If this appeals to you as a family, please contact me about more and let’s do this! I offer a basic package starting off with a 1.5 hr session, to an all day coverage package.

Here are some of my favorite images from my Family Documentary Sessions from 2017.

MA Wedding Photography | The Stonehedge Hotel & Spa | Tyngsborough, MA

Caroline & Rob’s held their wedding at the Stonehedge Hotel in Tyngsborough, Mass., on Veteran’s Day. Their day started out prepping, with Caroline getting ready with her dog, Gumbo, nearby. After the prep, Rob headed out to the ceremony, and waited for Caroline, and Gumbo, to arrive. With their friends and family gathered, they held their ceremony, and walked back down the aisle with Gumbo. After photos, it was onto their reception and dancing. A special thanks to photographer Jill Brady for joining me and starting the day with the ladies and Gumbo as they prepped, to the ceremony, and into the reception and dancing. Thanks Jill!

Glenna & Anthony had their intimate wedding ceremony at the Governor’s Inn in Rochester, NH, in the spring. After dressing up for the big day, the two were set for their outdoor ceremony with family and friends present on a beautiful afternoon. After the exchange of nuptials, and welcoming their guests, it was onto the first dances, toasts, and dancing with the happy couple. Congrats Glenna & Anthony!

Jessica & Joey’s September wedding was held at the beautiful Lovetts Inn in Franconia, NH. Their day started out with the prepping and dressing, then Jessica and her father driving off in a classic red Ford Thunderbird and arriving for the ceremony in style. With their friends and family gathered, the two exchanged their vows, marched down the aisle in celebration, with the two then hopping into the Thunderbird for a quick cruise around the grounds. Their day closed out with the reception, dancing, and hanging with friends around a fire pit to close out the night. Congrats Jessica & Joey!

NH Wedding Photography | Camp Cody| Freedom, NH

Amy and Sean’s September wedding was held at Camp Cody in Freedom, NH. Their day started out prepping, with Sean dressing their dog, Buddy, as Amy was getting ready with her ladies. The two then headed out for their First Look in the woods. From there, with their friends and family gathered, had their lakeside wedding ceremony, then onto their reception and dancing within this wonderful, casual camp atmosphere. Love camp, rustic settings! A special thanks to photographer Jill Brady also joined me, who started off with the guys and Buddy as they prepped, to the ceremony, and into the reception and dancing. Thanks Jill!
